4. Blue Light Blocking Glasses

I was introduced to theses by beauty blogger MegO on her blog  gift guide. I’ve been using THIS pair for several days now and I have noticed an IMMEDIATE improvement in my workday. I haven’t had a headache in over a week! I know that may sound strange to some but for a frequent migraine sufferer this is HUGE!!! I highly recommend them to anyone who spends a lot of time in front of a computer or phone screen!

Hill Country Hurricane Help

Many of us here in the Hill Country have strong ties to Rockport, Port A, and Houston. Many of you have homes, friends, and family in the effected areas. Some of my favorite places in Rockport have sustained heavy damage or been wiped off the map entirely. People are without power, surrounded by floodwaters, and in desperate need of basic necessities, food, and water. Organizations need a lot of help and need monetary donations in order to get people the help they need.

If you cannot get down to help in person, you can still help those in need.

How To Help:

  1. Give Blood.Give Blood. Major injuries from the storm mean blood shortages. One donation can save multiple lives. The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center has many locations accepting donations. Find one HERE.
  2. Amazon Smile. Help those in need by doing your normal Amazon shopping. Simply choose a charity you want to donate to and shop like normal. It doesn’t cost you anything but helps do so much good. I currently have The Aquarium at Rockport Harbor as my chosen charity. They were completely destroyed during Hurricane Harvey.
  3. Text HARVEY to 90999 to donate $10 to the American Red Cross or CLICK HERE TO DONATE.
  4. Air BnB has a page to list your rental or a room so that those fleeing the area have someplace to stay. If you have room consider listing it to help someone in need. LIST YOUR SPACE HERE.
  5. Text UWFLOOD to 41444 to donate to the United Way Flood Relief Fund. OR DONATE HERE.
  6. Humane Society.  The Humane Society helps pets and wildlife impacted by the hurricane. Give to their disaster relief HERE.
  7. SPCA Texas. There have been thousands of pets displaced by the storm. DONATE HERE to help Texas animals.
  8. Donate to The Salvation Army’s Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. CLICK HERE TO DONATE.
  9. The Texas Diaper Bank needs help providing aide to families with small children donate here.
  10. The Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce has set up a GoFundMe account to help with recovery efforts. You can DONATE HERE to help Rockport directly.

*UPDATE* If you want to donate items directly to Rockport Coldwell Banker D’Ann Harper Realtors is accepting donations at their office. They will be taking down supplies on Friday September 1st so please drop off soon! Needed items are listed in the photo below.

Apple Watch Lifestyle

Even though the Apple Watch has been on the market for about 2 years now I still frequently get questions about what it is like, if it is worth it, and if it is actually useful. I get stopped in line at H.E.B., out shopping, and even at work!

People still seem fascinated by these little wrist rectangles and want to be reassured of their value in ones daily life, so I thought I would put my two cents in on the matter.

Do I wear it every day?:

Almost.

There are only a few days when the watch is not attached to my person. I recently had family in town for a few days and I decided that I did not want the distraction, covert though it may be, from that time. At work however it is practically glued to me.

How often do you change out the bands?:

I change out bands as it suits me. There are outfits that work better with a leather band vs a sports band and some that I prefer to wear my Apple Watch in necklace mode with the Bucardo locket.

Do you actually think it is worth it?:

Absolutely. It is a time saver for many things and a great tool at work.

How do you think it impacts your quality of life?:

This is always a more difficult question. It does make it harder to unplug from the world because you literally have a device strapped to your body, but it makes me more productive and more likely to remember what I have coming up. I have personally found it to be a positive thing in my life.

There you have it folks the top 4 questions I am always asked about my Apple Watch. Hopefully this answers a few questions for those of you still on the fence!
