Merry Christmas at Flower Vault

Merry Christmas y’all! I hope you’re having an amazing day with family and friends!

I recently took some holiday photos at the Flower Vault in San Antonio. Their locations close December 31st so don’t miss out!

Summer Poolside Style: White Party

Summer White Parties are an annual tradition. It’s one of those occasions that makes you get creative with your wardrobe.

Since at a white party everyone wears white (kinda self explanatory), it’s the best time to get creative with your accessories without being too over the top.

If you’re as pasty white as your outfit (like I am), or if you just want to keep the sun’s harmful rays at bay, having a stylish hat is a summer wardrobe essential.

I love the straw hats from Goorin Bros. They roll up easily into my bag, but still hold their shape.

Its important to have a fun statement piece when you’re wearing the same hue head to toe, to keep your look unique and to add a pop of color.

I’m loving the Aztec Necklace from Grace and Charm, a local jewelry company here in the Hill Country. This delicate light weight necklace won’t weigh you down and is perfect for a breezy summer look.

I’m in LOVE with Amazonite right now, it’s the perfect stone for summer! The stone’s blue & green ocean colors are perfect for poolside style and definitely make this look!

Use Coupon Code: JULY40 to get 40% off your purchase at Grace and Charm!

This adorable ‘Totes Y’all’ tote from Draper James completes my summer poolside look. It’s red interior stripes just scream 4th of July BBQ!

However you spend your summer, I hope that yours stays sunny and bright!

Crawfish Boil -Bootjack Bar

I recently attended the amazing Annual Crawfish Boil at Bootjack Bar in Bergheim Texas, just outside Boerne.

This wasn’t your typical bar event, this was an amazing fun filled community event hat brought together people from the Greater Boerne area as well as other parts of the Hill Country and San Antonio.

There was of course AMAZING spicy crawfish but there were also some fun extras to make sure everyone had a great experience. There was giant beer pong from Rent Giant Games, and helicopter rides from Veracity Aviation . It was such an incredible time. I got a birds eye view of the beautiful Texas Hill Country from the helicopter, and had a complete blast. I cannot wait to attend next year’s event!

Kuhlman Cellars

This past weekend Chris Cobb, one of the founders of  Kuhlman Cellars, invited me to come up and experience one of their Signature Tastings and tour the winery.

I dragged the lovely lady behind the @TastingSanAntonio account (follow her she’s fabulous!)  up to Kuhlman Cellars with me and we got to experience all they had to offer.

fullsizeoutput_2993

We were greeted by the resident kitty who was a rescue from Hurricane Harvey (He’s a total sweetheart), as well as the Jennifers’; Jennifer Cobb (Co-Founder), and Jennifer Beckmann (Marketing Director).

Jennifer Cobb took us around the vineyard and showed us the behind the scenes production side and took us down to wander amongst the budding vines.

When our outside tour was done we wandered back inside to our tasting where Jennifer Beckmann started us off on our tasting experience.

The tasting at Kuhlman Cellars was very different than what I’ve experienced at wineries in the past, in the best possible way. It is a very personal experience. Many wineries in the Hill Country surprisingly don’t offer food pairings with their wine. Kuhlman Cellars’ Signature Pairing experience gives you the opportunity to experience the way their wines taste with a variety of flavors.

Another great thing about how the staff at Kuhlman Cellars works is that you can go in with zero wine knowledge and come out finally understanding what people are talking about! They are wonderful at breaking things down without making you feel like a 5 year old.

fullsizeoutput_2a1c

The bites were a mix of sweet, salty, bitter, spicy, and savory and you get to really see how the right wine can really enhance the flavor of the food and how the flavors bring out the different notes in wine.

fullsizeoutput_29f9

Jennifer Beckmann joked that she was going to “leave things on a bad note” because our last pairing was to show us how a wine would ‘fight’ a food. It is interesting to see how salt can really fight or compliment a wine.

fullsizeoutput_2a3a

I love coming out of a place having actually learned something in addition to having an enjoyable relaxing experience. I got to sit and relax after my tasting with a glass of wine and enjoy the beautiful weather and sunshine on the patio and enjoy  the sweeping view of the vineyard and the LBJ Ranch just beyond (oh and play with the cat.. of course!).

fullsizeoutput_297a

Kuhlman Cellars is a breath of fresh air on the wine circuit of the Hill Country and a destination all on it’s own. If you are planning on taking a trip up to the Texas wine country Kuhlman Cellars should definitely be on your list.

***Foodie Tip: Make sure you take advantage of the $5 credit towards a bottle of wine that is included with your Signature Pairing! ***

New Year’s Resolutions

I’m not one for making New Years Resolutions. To me they have always seemed a lot like when I experienced Lent as a kid, a lot of commitment for the first few days but then the caffeine deprivation headaches set in and you quickly go back to indulging once more.

I don’t think I have even tried to make a New Year’s Resolution in a decade (side note feels weird that I can claim to have done something for over a decade at this point in my life) but over the past few months I have made some changes and started implementing them more and more often and have decided to make those changes more permanent by converting these small changes into habits, hopefully making me more productive and hopefully more successful in my endeavors. I hope that these new habits will also make for better content for all of you.

I don’t feel that this makes a New Year’s Resolution or just a lifestyle change but it does make me excited for things to come.

Much love to all of you!

Pax Coffee And Goods

I decided to take a wander up into Kerrville today to take advantage of the beautiful weather we’re having right now in the Hill Country.

While wandering by the river near Kerrville’s Main Street, I walked across the street to Pax Coffee and Goods for a quick caffeine pick me up. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating a a variety of tasty treats waiting to be sampled.

Pax can also accommodate your adult beverage needs as well with their wine menu.

Pax Coffee and Goods is a great place to come and unwind for the afternoon with your significant other or friends after a day of shopping or exploring the natural beauty of the Hill Country.

Be sure to let Pax know that the Boerne Blonde says hello!

Dulce! A Night Of Decadence

Last night I attended Dulce! an event hosted by the San Antonio Current. The ever showcases the amazing sweet treats and drinks that local confectionaries, bakeries, distilleries, and restaurants have to offer.

I had the opportunity to attend the event as a VIP which of course came with some great perks. In addition to being able to enter the event an hour early, VIP’s had our own lounge area on the 3rd floor.

The VIP lounge had additional tables of treats set up as well as some additional swag throughout the event. The Dulce mug and the Stillhouse enamel pin were some of my favorite gifts of the evening.

One of the other incredibly cool items I received was provided by Guinness, one of Dulce’s sponsors. Guinness set about creating custom etched glasses for each VIP, I decided that I would have Boerne Blonde engraved into mine, and I have to say it came out great.

On the main floor every corner was filled with sweet treats that flowed outside to the courtyard and the back patio overlooking the River Walk.

Special shout out to Stillhouse for gifting me a super cute enamel pin, and to the owners of Summer Moon Coffee Bar for fueling my caffeine needs with their spiked Winter Moon!

Shout out to Stillhouse for gifting me a super cute enamel pin!

Dulce! San Antonio was completely as promised, a night of decadence and delights. I cannot wait for next year to see all of the amazing new tasty experience our local eateries have to offer!
